Horse Camp

"Mommy, can we please get a horse?!" 

"No, honey, we can't," I replied,  "We aren't even home enough to take care of one."  

"But we could take him with us!" she urged.  

"There is no way we could fit him in our van," I pointed out. 

" He could run behind the van." 

 "I'm sorry sweetie, we can't get a horse right now.  If and when we can, I will be sure to let you know!"  

"OK," she sighed.  

This was the conversation I had with my 4 year old daughter about 7 years ago.  This summer she wasn't able to buy a horse, but she did have the opportunity to go to Horse Camp for a week, and she loved it!

Every morning, if they arrived early enough, they were able to go to the pasture and lead the horses in to the ranch.
